1. INTRODUCTION. ABSURDA (“Company” or “we”) is committed to quality products and respecting your privacy rights as its customer, as well as the rights of visitors, and other users of the Company website located at www.absurda.com (the “Site”). We created this Privacy Policy to give you confidence as you visit and use the Site, and to demonstrate our commitment to fair information practices and the protection of privacy. This Privacy Policy is only applicable to the Site, and not to any other websites that you may be able to access from the Site, each of which may have data collection, storage, and use practices and policies that differ materially from this Privacy Policy.
2. Types of Information Collected.

(a) Traffic and Demographic Data Collected. We automatically track and collect the following categories of information when you visit our Site: (1) IP addresses; (2) domain servers; (3) types of computers accessing the Site; (4) types of web browsers used to access the Site; (5) ‘referrer’ data reflecting the route by which you came to the Site (collectively “Traffic Data”) (6) Demographic Data regarding your location, status, and other non-identifying data. Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you, but is helpful for marketing purposes or for improving your experience on the Site.

(b) Third Party Services. We use third party services to collect aggregate data about Site use. These services may use cookies to collect anonymous traffic data in order to improve the quality of our services.

In order for you to access services and to purchase products, including glasses and related products that we offer via the Site, we require you to provide us with certain information that personally identifies you (“Personal Information”). If you place orders or visit Site pages, this data is collected as Web Traffic and Demographic Data that may be transmitted to third parties for analysis.

3. COMPANY USE OF INFORMATION.

(a) Uses of Information Collected. We use Contact Data to send you information about us or our products or services, or to contact you when necessary. We use your Financial Data to verify your qualifications for certain products or services and to bill you for products and services. We use your Demographic Data to customize and tailor your experience on the Site, displaying content that we think you might be interested in and according to your preferences, to be sure you receive the correct order and to ship your order to you, with follow-up emails to secure your satisfaction and feedback.

(b) Sharing of Personal Information. We share certain categories of information we collect from you in the ways described in this Privacy Policy.

(c) We share Contact Data and Financial Data with our business partners who assist us by performing core services that are necessary to processing, making, fulfilling and shipping your order to you (such as hosting, billing, fulfillment, or data storage and security) related to our operation of the Site and to follow-up to your orders. Those business partners have all agreed to uphold the same standards of security and confidentiality that we have promised to you in this Privacy Policy, and they will only use your Contact Data and other Personal Information to carry out their specific business obligations to our Company. If you do not want us to share your Contact Data with any third parties, please email us at privacy@absurda.com but please understand that such a request will likely limit your ability to take advantage of all of the features and services we offer on the Site and you cannot place orders if we do not have your Personal Information, just like a regular store.

(d) User Choice Regarding Collection, Use, and Distribution of Personal Information. You may choose not to provide us with any Personal Information. In such an event, you can still access and use much of the Site; however, you will not be able to access and use those portions of the Site that require your Personal Information, including, but not limited to, being able to order glasses, make a purchase of any accessory or item sold from this Site or establish an account.

4. Confidentiality and Security of Personal Information. We take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure your Personal Information is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, we will keep your Personal Information private and will not share it with third parties, unless such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect our rights or property; or (c) enforce our Terms of Service.

Our store is hosted on Woocommerce Inc (“Woocommerce”). Woocommerce provides us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your Personal Information is stored through woocommerce’s data storage, databases and the general woocommerce application. Woocommerce stores your Personal Information on a secure server behind a firewall.

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then woocommerce stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. If you provide us directly with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

5. USER ABILITY TO ACCESS, UPDATE, AND CORRECT PERSONAL INFORMATION. We maintain a procedure in order to help you confirm that your Personal Information remains correct and up-to-date. If you would like to access, correct, amend or delete any of your Personal Information, contact our Privacy Compliance Officer at privacy@absurda.com.
6. Lost or Stolen Information. You must promptly notify us if your credit card, user name, or password is lost, stolen, or used without permission. In such an event, we will remove that credit card number, user name, or password from your account and update our records accordingly.
7. LINKS. The Site may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.
8. Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy. We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update, or modify this Privacy Policy, simply by posting such change, update, or modification on the Site and without any other notice to you. Any such change, update, or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site.
